Our Domestic Violence Advocacy Program is a non-residential domestic violence program, which provides victims of domestic violence and their children with comprehensive services such as: Domestic Violence Victim Safety Planning; Legal & Resource Advocacy; Accompaniment to court; Support Groups; and Counseling/Crisis Intervention.

Our comprehensive services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault include the following: 24-hour Domestic Violence & Rape Crisis Hotline; Shelter; Safety Planning; Counseling: individual counseling for adult clients. (Call 518-583-0280 for an appointment – we are generally able to see you within one day of your call, and often are available the same day); Legal Advocacy: Our legal advocacy services assist clients with understanding and navigating the criminal and civil justice systems. We assist in obtaining orders of protection, advocate for your goals, assist with safety planning, and provide accompaniment to all entities within the criminal justice system; Legal Clinic: Offering private, no-cost consultation with an attorney; Case Management: Our case managers link clients with community services and agencies to help you meet housing, employment, medical, educational and other needs; Accompaniment: Advocates can meet with clients at the hospital, police department, court and other agencies 24 hours a day to provide support and information; Help with Office of Victims Services compensation claims; Safe Pet Partnership: Our Safe Pet Partnership provides care and shelter for pets needing temporary safe housing while a family is in transition.

Schoharie
Catholic Charities of Delaware, Otsego, and Schoharie Counties
We offer support to victims of domestic violence and their families. Services include a 24-hour hotline, crisis intervention, safety planning, counseling, advocacy (including legal advocacy), a support group, transportation, referral to other service agencies, outreach and community education. Catholic Charities also provides the only domestic violence safe dwelling in Schoharie County for victims of domestic violence and their minor children. In addition, advocacy and support services are offered to victims of domestic violence to assist them in obtaining their goals of finding affordable and safe housing, obtaining employment or education, and remaining free from abuse.

Community Action Programs Cayuga/Seneca (CAP) - Seneca Office
CAP’s domestic violence program assist survivors and their children. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, temporary shelter, transitional housing assistance, advocacy, safety planning, counseling, support group, children’s group, safe visitation and exchange, assistance with victim compensation claims, and more. CAP also offers emergency services such as food, emergency transportation assistance, and prescription assistance, and responds to a wide array of crisis situations.

Family Counseling Service of the Finger Lakes provides individual and family trauma therapy and help with OVS Victim Compensation for victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault in Ontario, Wayne, Seneca and Yates counties.

St. Lawrence Valley Renewal House for Victims of Family Violence
The following services are offered: crisis counseling/intervention; emotional support - short-term individual counseling; support group for women affected by domestic violence; advocacy with orders of protection, pressing charges, working with the police and help in obtaining emergency assistance from the department of social services, the office of victim services, and other community programs. advocates are available to accompany a victim to the hospital, police station, lawyer’s appointment, court proceeding, department of social services, and more; information and referrals; children/youth program, including a weekly recreational/support group for children and individual counseling, mentoring, and child recreation; transportation; safe housing - emergency, temporary shelter for domestic violence victims; sexual assault nurse examiners - specially trained medical professionals providing compassionate, knowledgeable assistance to a victim of a sexual assault.

The Net Domestic Violence Services (part of Arbor Housing and Development)
The Net Domestic Violence Services provides a 24-hour crisis hotline; Support groups; The Net Shelter & Domestic Abuse Program, providing a secure, temporary shelter where victims and their children can safely stay, participate in support groups and work on securing safe living conditions permanently; and transitional housing to victims and helps them get started in a new home. We help people sort out details like finances, jobs and child care so they can successfully rebuild their lives. We also provide legal advocacy for crime victims.
Suffolk
Brighter Tomorrows
Brighter Tomorrows services clients from Suffolk and Nassau Counties, as well as the Five Boroughs of New York City and the Tri-State area. Our services include a secure domestic violence shelter, transitional housing program, a 24-hour crisis hotline, court advocacy and accompaniment in the Central Islip and Riverhead courthouses, individual counseling, support groups, safety planning, parenting program, adolescent counseling, and children’s groups. A bilingual counselor is available for our Spanish-speaking clients.
L.I. Against Domestic Violence
L.I. Against Domestic Violence provide services to survivors of domestic violence through supportive services including hotline, counseling, vocational training, emergency shelter, prevention and education resources, and legal advocacy. They have one staff attorney who represents victims of domestic violence in family court at no charge in the areas of custody, visitation and child support. They serve Suffolk County.

Victims Information Bureau of Suffolk (VIBS)
VIBS offers free, confidential, individual and group counseling by experienced, Master’s level social workers or counselors for adults and children. VIBS also provide the following advocacy services: information about obtaining orders of protection, victims’ rights and options, legal and other resources available in Suffolk County; Help communicating with the police or District Attorney’s office; Court accompaniment; Information, referrals and help obtaining social services and other basic services such as transportation, emergency food, shelter, immigration assistance; and assistance with crime victims compensation.
Sullivan
Fearless - Sullivan County Office
Provides services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse, human trafficking, and crime victimization. Services include: a 24-hour hotline, webchat (weekdays), emergency shelter with safe pet program, financial assistance, counseling, legal services, assistance with protection orders and custody, court and medical accompaniment, and more. Hotline and webchat services are offered in English and Spanish; translation is available for other languages.
Fearless - Sullivan Sexual Assault Service Center
Fearless provides sexual assault services at this center: a 24-hour hotline, safety planning, emotional support, counseling, legal and law enforcement advocacy, and accompaniment before, during, and after the medical exam.
