Kingsbridge Heights Community Center
New York City Family Justice Center - Bronx
The FJCs provide many criminal justice, civil legal, and social services in one location to victims/survivors of domestic violence, trafficking and elder abuse. Services include safety planning and risk assessment, counseling for victims and their children, civil legal assistance on immigration and family court matters, meeting with a prosecutor, accessing shelter, applying for housing and financial assistance, filing police reports, language interpretation, and a wide-range of self-sufficiency services including English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes, financial literacy and counseling, computer skills classes, and many other services. Each FJC has a Children’s Room where children ages 3 and up can play in a safe and supervised space while their parents receive services. Appointments are not needed - you may just walk in to the FJC Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation (Bronx Office)
The Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation has expanded to now include a Bronx office. The Bronx satellite office offers housing and immigration legal services, and health insurance navigation services.
Safe Horizon - Bronx Family Justice Center
Safe Horizon’s Community Programs offer the following services to victims of crime and abuse: Crisis Intervention, Case Management, Practical/Emergency Assistance, Information and Referrals, Individual Counseling, Support Groups, Advocacy, and Community/Public Education Presentations.
Sauti Yetu
Sauti Yetu is a community organization dedicated to mobilizing African immigrant women to improve the quality of their lives, strengthen their families and develop their communities. Sauti Yetu’s direct services, public education, and advocacy promote immigrant girls’ safe transitions into adulthood, curbs violence in the family, and gives poor and low income immigrant women access to life skills and leadership opportunities. Sauti Yetu has counseling, legal, immigration, and wellness services.
St. Rita's Center
St. Rita’s Center offers their services to refugee and immigrants in all five boroughs. They provide, individual and family counseling, interpreting and translating services, employment services, youth services: tutoring and guidance (elementary/ high school), peer support groups, and community outreach. Their hours are on Monday to Friday 9:00 am - 4:30 pm. Services are also provided in Spanish, Albanian, Vietnamese and Cambodian.
