November 27, 2023What is the legal definition of "abuse against an elderly adult or vulnerable adult"?
To qualify for an order, you must be the victim of “abuse against an elderly adult or vulnerable adult.” For the purposes of getting an elderly or vulnerable adult protection order, “abuse” includes:
- neglect and aggravated neglect by a caregiver;
- abuse and aggravated abuse by any person;
- financial exploitation by any person; and
- sexual exploitation by any person.1
