New York City Family Justice Center - Bronx
The FJCs provide many criminal justice, civil legal, and social services in one location to victims/survivors of domestic violence, trafficking and elder abuse. Services include safety planning and risk assessment, counseling for victims and their children, civil legal assistance on immigration and family court matters, meeting with a prosecutor, accessing shelter, applying for housing and financial assistance, filing police reports, language interpretation, and a wide-range of self-sufficiency services including English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes, financial literacy and counseling, computer skills classes, and many other services. Each FJC has a Children’s Room where children ages 3 and up can play in a safe and supervised space while their parents receive services. Appointments are not needed - you may just walk in to the FJC Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Sauti Yetu
Sauti Yetu is a community organization dedicated to mobilizing African immigrant women to improve the quality of their lives, strengthen their families and develop their communities. Sauti Yetu’s direct services, public education, and advocacy promote immigrant girls’ safe transitions into adulthood, curbs violence in the family, and gives poor and low income immigrant women access to life skills and leadership opportunities. Sauti Yetu has counseling, legal, immigration, and wellness services.
St. Rita's Center
St. Rita’s Center offers their services to refugee and immigrants in all five boroughs. They provide, individual and family counseling, interpreting and translating services, employment services, youth services: tutoring and guidance (elementary/ high school), peer support groups, and community outreach. Their hours are on Monday to Friday 9:00 am - 4:30 pm. Services are also provided in Spanish, Albanian, Vietnamese and Cambodian.

Arab-American Family Support Center (Brooklyn locations)
The Arab-American Family Support Center is the first and largest Arabic-speaking trauma informed social service agency in New York City. They promote equality for under-served populations as well as assisting them in complex situations due to language barrier. Their anti-violence program offers services to victims of domestic violence including crisis intervention individual counseling, support groups, empowerment groups for education and prevention of domestic violence, and court accompaniments and translation on a case by case basis.
Caribbean Women's Health Association, Inc.
Caribbean Women’s Health Association (CWHA) conducts programs that aim to improve the well-being of individuals, to strengthen families and empower communities. These programs are uniquely designed to provide comprehensive, integrated, culturally appropriate and coordinated “one-stop” service. Specifically helping victims of domestic violence, they conduct educational sessions to youths and young adults in Flatbush and other surrounding neighborhoods on domestic violence. In order to provide more comprehensive and coordinated services, this domestic violence program will develop linkages with other community resource centers, such as the Brooklyn Family Justice Center.
Edith and Carl Marks Jewish Community House of Bensonhurst
Edith and Carl Marks Jewish Community House of Bensonhurt is a center for the community that is rooted in Jewish values (but they will help people of any religion). They provide services for victims of domestic violence (regardless of religion), including , counseling, benefits assistance, referrals, and community education.

Services include: 24-hour hotline that is multilingual, support programs and shelter services. Steps to End Family Violence
Steps to End Family Violence provides services that include advocacy and referrals, individual and group counseling, crisis counseling, parenting and children groups, civil legal services, and re-entry case support and counseling STEPS has three domains of practice - our Community Based Services programs, our Youth programs and our Justice-Involved programs. Our Community Based Services programs provides community based therapeutic services to survivors of gender-based violence - most commonly intimate partner violence - and children impacted by batterer behavior. Any survivor of abuse - even those who are not justice-involved are eligible for those services. Our Justice-Involved programs - ATI, Re-Entry and Anti-Trafficking programs - only work with survivors of gender-based violence who have been arrested and/or incarcerated.
The Park Slope Safe Homes Project
The Park Slope Safe Homes Project is a community-based program that offers services to women and their children in Park Slope who are victims of domestic violence. The services they provide are emergency short-term shelter, a hotline, crisis counseling and advocacy through the staff as well as support groups.
Urban Resource Institute
The Center Against Domestic Violence offer services to victims of domestic violence. Services include safe houses, counseling and personal advocacy. Services are offered in Spanish.

Barrier Free Living, Inc.
Barrier Free Living offers services for victims of domestic violence with disabilities. Services include: counseling, case management, advocacy, occupational therapy, assistance filing office of victim services applications and assistance in obtaining orders of protection. They also have an emergency domestic violence shelter for victims with disabilities called Freedom House, which can be reached by calling 212-400-6470.
Day One
Day One provides provides free and confidential counseling, case management as well as legal advice, information and direct representation to young people aged 24 and under related to dating abuse. They provide additional services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender/gender non-conforming, queer and questioning youth who are struggling with intimate partner abuse. Their legal programs include assistance obtaining orders of protection, full representation at Family Court hearings for orders of protection, paternity, custody, visitation and child support, filing for domestic violence-based immigration relief such as VAWA petitions, Battered Spouse Waivers and U Visas, advocacy and support navigating the criminal justice system with the goal of obtaining a order of protection, assistance in obtaining a school safety transfer, advocacy and representation in administrative proceedings for public assistance, housing and other benefits and assistance with emancipation for young adults in need of public benefits and/or shelter due to intimate partner abuse. They also offer non-legal programs such as group counseling. They serve New York City. They provide services in English and in Spanish.
GEMS - Girls' Educational & Mentoring Services
GEMS provide preventive and transitional services to young women ages 13-21 years old that are at risk for or are involved in sexual exploitation and violence. The services provided are peer counseling, crisis counseling and workshops that raise awareness about the facts of the commercial sex industry for girls and young women who are victims of sexual exploitation.

The mission of the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault is to prevent sexual violence and reduce the harm it causes through education, research and advocacy. Their services include informing the community about available resources/services, education and training, documenting the problem of sexual assault/abuse in the city, and more. (They do not provide direct services to victims other than giving information and resources.)

The NMIC’s Domestic Violence Program (DVP) offers community-based counseling, case management and legal services for victims and survivors of intimate partner violence. The program is comprised of two components: social services and legal services. Social services including counseling, risk assessments, safety planning, advocacy, case management, wellness programs, health and mental health needs, benefits, etc. The legal component provides consultations and representation in legal matters including immigration, public benefits, consumer debt, and housing.

SAKHI for South Asian Women
Sakhi for South Asian Women offers direct services for the South Asian community that are free and confidential. Services include: crisis intervention, ongoing emotional support, monthly support group with staff available to translate in 3 languages: Bengali, Hindi, and Urdu. They also offer assistance in trying to find free or low-cost legal representation for criminal, family, and immigration cases. They assist in accessing health services, public benefits, housing; as well as accompaniments and translation assistance in court. They offer monthly immigration legal clinics to assist women in immigration-related matters and assist them on the path to citizenship.

The Anti-Violence Project
The Anti-Violence Project empowers lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and HIV-affected communities and allies to end all forms of violence through organizing and educating victims of abuse. The Anti-Violence Project provides direct services such as immediate crisis intervention, safety planning, short or long-term counseling, police, court and social services advocacy and accompaniment, information and referrals to anyone who calls their hotline or comes to their main offices or intake sites throughout the five boroughs.
The Jewish Board of Family and Children Services
The Jewish Board of Family and Children Services provide services for victims of domestic violence (regardless of religion). Services include: 24-hour hotline, shelter, daycare, and counseling services for the victims of domestic violence and their children. Housing is located in 16 scattered apartment sites. Services include crisis intervention, individual, group, and family therapy, and training in independent living skills.
Urban Justice Center - Domestic Violence Project
Provides legal and social services for victims of domestic violence. Services include representation and legal advocacy, including for immigration cases for DV victims in all 5 boroughs on U-Visa, VAWA and SIJS matters; crisis counseling; and empowerment groups. The Violence Intervention Program (VIP) is a nationally-recognized Latina organization. Their mission is to promote non-violent partner relationships, families, and communities through raising awareness, activism, and culturally competent services that are respectful of each survivor’s right to self-determination.
